Retro Video Game Collection Tips

There are many ways to keep track of a video game collection. Some people use spreadsheets or websites, while others take pictures of their games and have them printed in albums of titles, prizes, and release dates on the back. In general, the most expensive Trading Card Games Social Network auctions have been around series with the highest recognized value, such as The Mario or The Legend of Zelda. There is virtually no stigma around video games these days, except among parents who would prefer their children to do something else.

As you can see, there are a lot of things that can be about collecting video games if you want to get started. People in the game picking community are usually very vocal about their choices when it comes to hunting, buying, selling, exhibiting and all the other aspects, so listen! Are you an experienced collector with some tips for a beginner?

Prices will usually be much better than online because sellers don’t realize they have a rough diamond. Check out the selections to see if they have anything available that you want. Sometimes you’ll have to be patient to get results, but this rare $3 game at a garage sale is worth it. Depending on your location, there are many different places where you can buy video games. Probably one of the most important tips I can give to new collectors is to know exactly where to shop and who to give your money to. The easiest place to get a game you’re looking for is through eBay; However, eBay is also the most expensive route to take.

If you’re looking for a more affordable console to collect games, I always recommend the Atari 2600, Playstation or Playstation 2 as a good place to start. All three consoles have cheap games and most of their best games are quite readily available at decent prices. Not to mention that most retro game stores and thrift stores are flooded with titles from all three. The Atari 2600 is the cheapest of the three and fully packaged copies will only cost you a few dollars.

However, I think this question is asked so often because of what new collectors often see on social media. For example, if someone saw MetalJesusRocks or Scott the Woz’s collection, they’d think these two guys had a big plan when they started collecting, and that can be pretty intimidating. But if I can be honest, there’s not really a specific way to start collecting games. You don’t need an app to track your purchases, you don’t need to create a spreadsheet of the games you want, go out and start buying what you want to collect, and the rest will come in the future.
